Who would imagine that a prince would have selected a remote location in Kenya as the perfect setting to propose to his beautiful bride-to-be?! Well, No surprise. With an abundance of beautiful natural scenery, exquisite beaches, and not to mention the wonderful people combined with the best wildlife attractions no doubt, Spartan Rutundu remote log cabins, set off the beaten track on the northern slopes of Mount Kenya in an area of pure wilderness and breathtaking beauty, made the ‘cut’ for the best backdrop a prince would ask the very important question–Will You Marry ME!!These cosy cabins are the perfect destination for an adventurous rough-luxe getaway, with the area only being accessible by air, horseback, or via a 15km walk from the nearest road. The area is so remote that guests are advised to bring along their own food and drink. The fact that the isolated spot has no electricity while being surrounded by elephant, hyena, buffalo and leopard, plus being  famous for its trout fishing at both Lake Rutundu and Lake Alice,  even adds to the experience. It is said to be a favorite hideaway for the Prince, who first visited it two years ago.

The Engagement -The pair were enjoying a 24-hour stop over when the 28-year-old Prince Williams asked Kate Middleton to be his wife on the veranda of their cabin.  As reported by The Sun:William revealed he had been carrying his mother's £28,500 engagement ring around in a rucksack for the duration of their three week holiday. The pair then enjoyed a bottle of champagne – kept cool in the outdoor ‘fridge’ – a wooden cupboard, before tucking into a meal prepared by the resort staff. They then retired to their four-poster bed; the pair are said to have snuggled happily in front of a roaring fire. And, there has been speculation that the couple may return there on honeymoon after Friday’s wedding.

According to the Daily Mail: ‘‘it is the one place Prince William can be himself. And he does not have to be guarded because the wildlife there are his guardians. ’On their departure, dated October 21, the happy couple signed the Rutundu guest book, with William declaring: ‘Such fun to be back! ‘Looked after so well. Thank you guys! Look forward to next time, soon I hope. ’

Happy Vacation!
