East Africa is doubtlessly a beautiful, unforgettable place, and this can be seen from the number of nominations it garners for itself in this year’s World Travel Awards.

Kenya Airways got three nominations, for Africa’s Leading Airline, Africa’s Leading Airline Business Class and Africa’s Leading Airline Economy Class.

Kenya’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport was also nominated under Africa’s Leading Airport.
Kenya’s Palacina Residence and Suites, and Tamarind Village were nominated for awards as Africa’s Leading Apartment Hotel. Kenya’s Diani Beach, and Tanzania’s Zanzibar Island make it for Africa’s Leading Beach Destination.

Peponi Hotel, Lamu

Z Hotel in Zanzibar, and Peponi Hotel in Lamu compete for Africa’sLeading Beach Hotel, while Kenya’s Almanara Diani Beach Resort and Zanzibar’s Karafuu Hotel Beach Resort compete for Africa’s Leading Beach Resort.

Dar es Salaam Serena, and Hyatt Regency Dar es Salaam are the sole East African torch bearers under the category of Africa’s Leading City Hotel

Mombasa, Serengeti national Park, and Mt. Killimanjaro take the nominations for Africa’s Leading Destination. 
Africa’s Leading Green Hotel features Kenya’s Il Ngwesi Eco-Lodge and the Nairobi Serena Hotel
Africa’s Leading Hotel has Kenya’s Fairmont The Norfolk.
 
Other awards for which East Africa has been nominated for include Africa’s Leading Luxury Lodge, Africa’s Leading Luxury Resort, Africa’s Leading Luxury Villa, Africa’s Leading Marketing Campaign, Africa’s Leading Meetings and Conference Centre, Africa’s Leading Port, Africa’s Leading Resort, Africa’s Leading Responsible Tourism Company, Africa’s Leading Safari Lodge, Africa’s Leading Tourism Board, and Africa’s Leading Travel Management Company.
