Tucked in the Moremi Game Reserve are the Little Mombo Camp and the Mombo Camp. The Moremi Game Reserve is located in Northern Botswana in the Okavango Delta area.Whereas the Mombo Camp has nine spacious tents, the little Mombo  camp only has three tents . 

For you who is hoping to bound with nature, both camps have outdoor showers and for the not so adventurous type there are ensuite bathrooms in the rooms of both The Mombo and Little Mombo Camps.

The Little Mombo camp also has its own dining room, kitchen and pool. On the other hand The Mombo’s dining and main living areas are thatched and it also has a pool. From both the Little Mombo and The Mombo Camp you will have the opportunity of viewing some of the best big game in The Okavango Delta. Which include leopard, cheetah, lions, buffalo, elephant, and white rhino. Other animals that you can also see are spotted hyena, wild dogs, southern giraffe, blue wildebeest and Burchell’s zebra.The little Mombo Camp and The Mombo Camp also boast of morning and afternoon drives in open 4 wheel drives where you can also view the predators.

The Little Mombo camp has ample parking space and a relaxing area in its lounge. The Little Mombo Camp and is connected to the sister Mombo Camp by a raised walkway.

The Mombo Camp and The Little Mombo Camp was the 2013 Top Hotel in Travel and Leisure World’s Best Awards readers’ survey. The Mombo and T he Little Mombo took the top spots in Conde Nast Traveler’s Gold 2012 list in the Africa and Middle East category. The Mombo Camp and The Little Mombo Camp were placed 9th in the Top Lodges and Resorts in Africa and Middle East category and they were ranked 20th in the World’s Best Hotels category of the 2011 World’s Best Awards. Mombo and Little Mombo camp were the number one resort in Africa in the 2009 Conde Nast Traveler (USA) Readers’ Choice Awards. They were also placed 10th in the Top 100. In the 2008 Conde Nast Traveler’s Readers Choice Awards Mombo Camp and Little Mombo Camp were placed second in the Best of the Best –Top100 category they were also first in the 50 Top Resorts -Africa. The 11th Annual poll of Travel and Leisure (USA) travel publication placed Mombo Camp at 3rd place in The top 25 Hotels in Africa and Middle East and 15th in the Top Small Hotels worldwide. In 2004 The Travel and Leisure magazine placed Mombo Camp as 12th in the Overalls Hotels category. In 2004 Conde Nast Traveler placed Mombo Camp sixth best in The Best of the Best in the World category and second in the Best Safari Camp in Africa categories.

 

The Mombo Camp and The Little Mombo Camp are part of the Wilderness Safaris group company. This company owns hotels and reserves across Africa. It is a luxury ecotourism company that protects wildlife and includes the local communities in the process. The company was formed in 1983.
