Tanzania Music Awards also known as the Kilimanjaro Music Awards or Kili Music Awards after its sponsor Kilimanjaro Premium Larger took place at the Mlimani Conference Center on Saturday 14th April 2012.
The Kilimanjaro Music Awards established in 1999 by the National Arts Council (BASATA) under the Tanzanian Ministry of Education and Culture was initiated as a way to celebrate the music talent the country and the region has to offer. Since then the event has been held annually with winners walking away with cash prizes of upto 10 million Tanzanian Shillings.
This year’s event brought together a great number of people who came all out to honor remarkable people in the Tanzanian and East African Music Industry.
The event, anchored by Vanessa Mdee and Millard Ayo attracted the presence of radio and TV presenters as well as performing artistes, including Diamond Platinumz, Ali Kiba, Saraha, Bi Cheka, and many more.
It was also a night of glamour, with the guests all glammed out.
