Kigali Memorial Centre / Gisozi Genocide Memorial Centre
This place holds memories of Rwanda’s 1994 Genocide. The Centre is on a site where over 250,000 people are buried.
Not to worry about the entrance as it is free but one can give donations.
Parc National des Volcans
This is the home of the mountain gorillas.
Nyamata Church
It is inside this church that over 5,000 people died during the Genocide. Here, you will find clothes of the Genocide victims, the blood-stained altar cloth and outside, two mass graves of over 40,000 who died. It is an eerie place, holding so many memories of pain and the chilling deaths.
Nyungwe Fores
It is one of Africa's oldest and largest protected mountain rainforest, home to chimpanzees and 12 other primate species. The forest is about 4-5 hours from Kigali, Rwanda’s Capital city.
Ntarama Church
Also declared a genocide memorial, this Church still has bones and stuff of the dead lying in the aisles and the altar.
Akagera National Park
Located in eastern Rwanda, you can drive around and see hippos, baboons, giraffes, antelope, zebras, warthogs and elephants.
National Museum of Rwanda
This is where you can find the traditional artifacts of the Rwandese preserved for posterity.
Rusumo Falls
This waterfall, located on the Kagera river, is on the border between Rwanda and Tanzania. The Falls has a lot of historical significance to the Rwandese.
Lake Kivu
Located in Western Rwanda, this is a nice place of relaxation.
