Tucked away on the corner of the cobbled St. George Street in the capital city of Port Louis is the coziest little beer lounge in Mauritius. Home to a wide variety of beers from different nations including Mauritius, this restaurant is centered around the love of beer and good food.
The atmosphere is rather relaxing, with a range of seating areas both in and outside. The charm of the location has got to be the colonial house the beer shop is in, giving it a rustic aspect with a vintage feel.
Their range of beer, while being international, is focused on local, German, and Belgian beer. They have tastes and varieties of flavors from the strongest beers to the more fuity tastes, all available on the regular manu, as well as other more rare collections that can be purchased in the beer shop. Prices will depend on the brew quality and size. They cater to all tastes, whether you are a regular beer drinker, or are not too used to its savours.
Like most pubs and beer houses, Lambic also has a good menu which includes great appetizers to go with the beers in addition to standard meals ranging from meats, to seafood, and vegetarian dishes. Their food is also international, with Australian burgers, Italian pastas, and local fish.
The Lambic in Port Louis has also opened a branch; a micro-brewery at the Bagatelle Mall of Mauritius called The Flying Dodo, where different versions of the local beers can be tasted.
If you are visiting Mauritius be sure to stop by for a taste of good brew and food. More information here.
