Tanzania’s Aviation and Tourism Industries will get a boost with three new flight routes from FlyDubai.
Launched just this week, the new routes will be to Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar and Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. FlyDubai has now increased its network in Africa to 12 destinations. The destinations include Bujumbura in Burundi, Entebbe in Uganda and Kigali in Rwanda. Fly Dubai’s CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith revealed that with the addition of the three new destinations in Tanzania Fly Dubai has doubled their network in North and East Africa this year, strengthening their commitment to serving previously undeserved markets.
Fly Dubai’s flights come at a time when Tanzania’s tourism industry is rapidly expanding, just like the rest of its industries. In 2013 Tanzania over 1 million tourists landed in the country and the Tanzania Tourism Board (TTB) has predicted that this figure might double by 2017. The country has a variety of tourist attractions including Dar es Salaam, a seaport city that is rapidly devoloping economically. Magnificent Zanzibar, the luring Spice Island, has various excellent sites and Mount Kilimanjaro is a natural wonder by itself. The mountain attracts hikers all year round.
Fly Dubai is also expanding its flight network in a bid to support Dubai’s Tourism Vision 2020, which aims at attracting 20 million visitors to the Emirates by 2020. “By offering reliable, affordable and convenient travel services from Tanzania, we provide passengers with the opportunity to travel to Dubai and connect onwards to more than 200 worldwide destinations through Dubai International Airport, said Sudhir Sreedharan, Senior Vice President Commercial (GCC, Subcontinent and Africa).
