Water Filter

Looking for a great water filter system?  Have you ever filled up a glass with water that didn’t go through a water filter system and looked at the water for a minute?  Did it seem cloudy?  Did you see anything floating in it?  Did you see anything move?  If you live in a big U.S. city like Los Angeles, the odds are you saw something?  What, I don’t know, but you saw something.  If you live in a big European city like Paris, you might not have even seen the glass.  You certainly wouldn’t have drunk the water … or did you?  Aaaaahhhhhh!  If you live in many of the areas on this planet, you probably didn’t see anything pretty or anything that looked like a good alternative for quenching your thirst.

How about the smell?  Have you ever filled a glass with water that didn’t go through a water filter system and found that it smelled like your shower … before you last cleaned it?  Did you smell something musty, or who knows what, that kept you from drinking it?  Did you start to gag from the smell?  That water didn’t run through a water filter, did it?  Did you wind up pouring the water out without drinking it?

Let’s say you decided, after consulting a Ouija board, a deck of astrology cards, or WebMD, to actually drink the water.  Were you able to keep it down?  Did you start to gag?  Did you get a queasy feeling in your stomach after you swallowed?  Did you have to wait a couple hours before you could drink, or eat, anything else?  Did your teeth change color?  Did your teeth fall out?

Many people forego a water filter system and buy water at the store that comes in plastic bottles.  If you do, there are some things to consider.  First of all, do you know where that water came from?  I know, I know, the bottle always has a pretty picture of a snow-covered mountain, pristine lake, or clear mountain spring.  And the writing on the bottle always shows something like “from the world’s most beautiful mountain springs” or “from the crystal clear waters of Colorado.”  But you really don’t know where it came from, do you?  For all you know, it came from a beautiful silver faucet in Mexico City.  There have been municipalities that have bottled and sold their water in stores.  You may have bought it and drank it.

And what about that plastic bottle the water comes in.  Do you know where it was stored and for how long?  For all you know, it could have been stored in a locker room in the Mohave Desert for six months before being shipped to the store.  That plastic is clear, so if it melts it’s the same color as the water.  And take a look at some of that bottled water.  Look pleasing?  Take a whiff?  Smell great?  Are you sure you want to drink it?  Some dogs wouldn’t.

So if you’re not sure you should drink water directly from your faucet or a plastic bottle, what’s the answer?  Well, if you’re like me, and I went through everything in the paragraphs above, you buy a water filter for your sink.  In the big picture, they’re not that expensive, you only have to replace the filter twice a year, and the results are great.  Do the same tests as above for filtered water from your faucet.  You’ll see much clearer water, water that smells good or doesn’t have a smell, and water that tastes good.  You’ll have peace of mind knowing where the water came from and that it is filtered.  You won’t have to worry about digesting something that sat in plastic for six years.

If you buy a good water filter you’ll know.  When you change the filter, you’ll be able to see that there has definitely been some filtering going on.  Take a look at the used filter.  Don’t look too close, unless you’re looking for something you lost in a lake one time, but take a look.  You’ll be glad you’re using a water filter.  Finally, you’ll be confident you’re drinking clean water.

If that weren’t enough, the water filter I have is small enough to be able to take when travelling.  It’s very easy to hook up to your sink and doesn’t have many parts.  Start drinking clean water today by clicking the link to Aquasana below.  It’ll be the best decision you’ve made in a long time.
